I am a bit disturbed.I saw a program in TV.
This is a story about a Girl who lost her life because of Dowry.
All of You know the meaning of the word Dowry??? I am sure many would not have witnessed dowry system in your life as our world has improved a lot!!!
Yesterday when I was surfing through the channels,something grabbed my attention.They were showing a girl's photo again and again (marriage photo).I stopped by to watch it.
The girl's name let it be XXX. She was married to YYY. First few days, the girl was happy.
After some days,everything changed.She was beaten up by her mother-in-law and her husband.She was asked to do lots of work and they didn't give her food.The most sad thing is,This girl didn't tell anything about this torture to her family.She didn't want to hurt her family members it seems.She had two siblings,she didn't want to spoil their lives.
But after a point of time,she couldn't bear it.So she came back to her mother's house.She stayed there for few days.Then her father-in-law came and convinced her parents to let her come home.
Her parent's believed his words and sent her.She had two kids.Her husband and mother-in-law asked her to bring gold ornaments from her mother's house.But she was unable to bring it,as they were poor.They bet her nicely and she fell ill.She suffered from fever.But nobody took her to hospital.She went to Government hospital by herself,got medicines and came back.
As she was ill,she couldn't provide fodder for the cattle.While She returned from hospital,her husband started beating her with dried coconut leaf stalk.She died on the spot.He didn't panic.He just carried her inside the room,took a bed sheet and tied that to her neck and told everyone that she committed suicide.
Really horrible and scary right???
Today I saw another program."SATYA MEVA JAYATHE".They showed that boys have changed.
Now we don't have male chauvinistic society.All men and women are equal.They showed three men who have changed from the idea of torturing women and now helping their wives'.I am in confusion to believe which extreme My Nation India is in!!!
